The weekly "deadlines" were a helpful way to keep taking steps forward without getting overwhelmed at all the work there was to do to set up my business.

Creating my business plan in a group normalized the whole process for me.  Being in the class helped me feel that starting a business was a perfectly reasonable and logical thing to do. If I had been doing it on my own, I would've often wondered if I was crazy. The class and instructors affirmed my decisions along the way so I knew I was not crazy or fooling myself.

The ASSETS program brought me information I needed on how to budget my business start-up and the planning for future operation. The most important thing I found during the courses is self-confidence.

I found learning about the financial aspects and the Excel spreadsheet very helpful as the underpinnings or backbone of a business. It helped me to see where my pricing needs to be or what I need to do to streamline my processes so that I cover my time within the unit cost. I also welcomed meeting new people and like-minded people through the program.

I wanted to inspire my kids to work for themselves and that the option is there that they do not always have to work for someone else.

Prior to participating in the project, I really lacked confidence in the idea of me starting my own business. I was unclear about the steps I needed to follow which caused me to procrastinate. I couldn't help notice the change in myself these past couple of weeks as I check off the items on my To-Do List. I have been making steady progress with setting up my business. The unease I had previously felt has been replaced with the confidence of knowing what to do next. Even designing a website is easier because I've already thought through all the things I needed to know in order to construct an effective site.

I found the WRAP program to be especially helpful in two ways. First, it showed me how to cut through all the red tape of starting a business. Second, and I think most important, it provided a safety net of support and encouragement. As the program progressed it was a relief knowing that there was someone to turn to for advice and assistance when problems presented themselves.

The program really does work if you put the effort into it.
